Important Medicines for At-Home Sarcoidosis Treatment
Vitamin B17 / Laetrile / Amygdalin
One top treatment for any autoimmune-related problem is vitamin B17. Additionally, since the inflammatory nodes in sarcoidosis resemble cancer in some cases, supplementing with this primary anti-cancer nutrient is especially important. In addition to its powerful anti-cancer effects, laetrile/amygdalin also has the following relevant effects for sarcoidosis patients:- Cough suppressant (antitussive)
- Anti-asthmatic
- Calms respiratory movement
- Antiinflammatory properties
- Immune suppression/dysfunction treatment
- Analgesic effect (natural pain-killer)
- Supports pulmonary surfactant synthesis
For the treatment of sarcoidosis, patients should eat between 20-40 bitter apricot kernels per day. Don’t eat them all at once, though! Eat 4-5 per sitting and split up your “doses” throughout the day. Avoid eating anything else 30 minutes before any after eating the apricot kernels, and don’t mix them with food (you can drink some water after eating them to rinse the bitter flavor out of your mouth, if you’d like).
Other Nutritional Supplements
Vitamin D3+K2 and Magnesium
Vitamin D is commonly prescribed to people suffering from sarcoidosis as a treatment for hypercalcemia (too much calcium). While this has been shown to be an effective treatment in some cases, it’s important to always take vitamin D3 in combination with vitamin K2 in order to ensure that the calcium ends up where it belongs (in the bones and teeth) and not in places it isn’t supposed to be (like the blood vessels). Magnesium is another important supplement that ensures that vitamin D3 is able to do its job. Some experts advise that sarcoidosis patients take a minimum of 1000IU of vitamin D3 in combination with 50mcg of vitamin K2 in a combined supplement form in addition to a 200-400mg magnesium citrate supplement twice daily (once before breakfast, and once before going to bed). Do NOT take a calcium supplement.Serrapeptase and Nattokinase
We discuss these two enzymes in a different arcticle in regard to emphysema treatment, but they can also be important supplements for sarcoidosis patients. Serrapeptase can help reduce the development of pulmonary granulomas, while nattokinase can prevent fibrosis. Both enzymes also have anti-inflammatory properties.N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)
NAC is an important supplement for a variety of different lung diseases and respiratory tract problems (including those caused by infection). It is a powerful antioxidant with the ability to thin mucus, thus making it helpful for people who may have a buildup of mucus in their lungs or sinuses as well as for the management of oxidative stress. As an example, one study showed that administration of NAC at a dose of 900mg, 3 times per day was able to increase glutathione levels in patients with pulmonary sarcoidosis. Glutathione is not only an important antioxidant, but it’s also a chelating agent and detoxifier, so this may be important specifically for sarcoidosis patients who suspect that their disease has its roots in heavy metal toxicity or some other kind of toxic overload.L-Cysteine 1000mg | 100 Powder Capsules | Non-GMO, Gluten Free Supplement | by Horbaach
Because NAC is an antioxidant, it should not be combined with CDS/MMS treatment.Quercetin
Quercetin is a flavonoid found in different fruits, vegetables, and herbs. It can be taken on its own, however, for the treatment of different health problems. Like NAC, this is an antioxidant treatment, and should not be combined with CDS/MMS treatment.Foods that are naturally high in quercetin (and/or other flavonoids) include:
- Apples
- Onions
- Berries (blackberries, elderberries, etc.)
- Grapes and raisins
- Cherries
- Broccoli
- Cabbage
- Green beans
- Tomatoes
- Tea
- Red wine
- Organic, fresh-pressed fruit juices
One study asked pulmonary sarcoidosis participants to take 500mg of quercetin orally 4 times over the course of a 24 hour period (specifically, the first capsule was taken during breakfast, one was taken during lunch, another during dinner, and one before bedtime). The study observed that glutathione levels were relatively unaffected by quercetin supplementation, but that serum antioxidant levels in general were increased following this supplementation protocol. An oxidative lipid damage marker known as malondialdehyde (MDA) was also noted to be present in lower levels, as were cytokines TNF-alpha, IL-8, and IL-10. Though this study was only done over one 24-hour period, pulmonary sarcoidosis patients would need to follow this supplementation protocol for a longer period of time in order to see results.
Melatonin
Melatonin, though an unusual supplement to include on this list of pulmonary sarcoidosis treatments, is important to note. It’s necessary to supplement with melatonin over time in order to see results, but studies have shown that supplementation with this hormone can normalize symptoms for sarcoidosis patients. Most people will know melatonin as a sleep-enhancing supplement and insomnia treatment that can help regulate circadian rhythms, but what most people don’t know is that melatonin’s role in the body goes beyond sleep cycles. Melatonin is also may have these effects:
- Anti-inflammatory
- Anti-apoptotic (in this case, this refers to melatonin’s ability to prevent cell death in areas of the body where there isn’t sufficient oxygenation and blood supply)
- Neuroprotective (protects the brain and nerves)
- Regulates immune system activation
- Immunomodulatory
These effects have been studied in regard to melatonin’s efficacy as a chronic sarcoidosis treatment. In one study, patients were given 20mg per day of melatonin for the first 12 months, and 10mg per day of melatonin for the second 12 months of the study (note that melatonin should always be taken before bedtime, ideally right before going to sleep, and that your environment should be as dark as possible when you take it to ensure that it works effectively). The study observed that the patients taking melatonin had improvements in pulmonary parameters, normalized ACE levels, and resolved skin involvement in cases where there were skin-related sarcoidosis symptoms. The parenchymal lesions were improved in all participants taking melatonin after 24 months of treatment, and some patients also had a complete resolution of their hylar adenopathy. Other positive changes were also noted sooner during treatment. There were no side effects or recurrences while the sarcoidosis patients were being treated with melatonin.
Nebulization Treatments
Nebulization may help some people with sarcoidosis overcome their symptoms. Since it’s likely that most sarcoidosis patients either have a low level infection and/or a heavy load of heavy metals or other toxins, there are 2 primary nebulization techniques that would be best (we discuss the exact techniques for nebulization in this article):1) Nebulizing with hydrogen peroxide Hydrogen peroxide works similarly to Chlorine Dioxide Solution (CDS) in that it is a reactive oxygen species (ROS) medicine. Therefore, it should not be used in combination with a treatment plan that involves primarily antioxidant therapies (however, hydrogen peroxide nebulization would go well with a CDS/MMS treatment protocol). Note that you should NEVER use CDS/MMS in a nebulizer!! Hydrogen peroxide is a safe and effective alternative to CDS/MMS. It is particularly good for killing pathogens and treating viral, bacterial, or fungal infections.

2) Lugol’s iodine nebulizer treatment Lugol’s iodine is an antioxidant medicine, and therefore shouldn’t be used at the exact same time as CDS/MMS solution (wait at least 1 hour before and after using Lugol’s iodine in a nebulizer before taking CDS if you choose to use this treatment). This medicine can kill pathogens in addition to chelating heavy metals, making it a good choice for sarcoidosis patients. Remember to only nebulize using Lugol’s iodine solution (do not use povidone iodine to nebulize as a sarcoidosis treatment)!

Vibrational Therapies
Vibrational therapies may be an option for some people who want to treat their sarcoidosis at home. Rife Therapy, Biomagnetism, and Dr. Hulda Clark’s Zapper are all examples of vibrational therapies that can be used to successfully treat diseases like sarcoidosis that have their root cause in an infection of some kind. Below I’ve included a brief description of each of these three vibrational therapies:- Rife Therapy Rife Therapy has been known to successfully treat cancer, psoriasis, Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, bronchiectasis, Clostridium difficile infection, COVID-19, parasite infections, and more. In fact, the list of health problems that Rife Therapy can treat is so long that it’s not even feasible to include the list here. This treatment is simple and works using resonant frequencies to kill pathogens living inside the body (even if they’re hiding under biofilm). While it may be possible to find a practitioner who administers Rife Therapy in some places, it’s also possible to get your own Spooky2 Machine to administer Rife Therapy at home.
- Biomagnetism Biomagnetism was developed in Mexico by Dr. Issac Goiz and was first used to treat HIV/AIDS. From there, Dr. Goiz expanded this therapy to be used on a wide range of health problems (including sarcoidosis, among many, many others… again, too many to list here). This treatment involves the placement of powerful magnets on specific areas of the body and can be administered at home (I recommend taking a short course or reading a book on biomagnetism before starting this) or by a licensed practitioner. There are many practitioners of biomagnetism in Mexico where the therapy originated!
- Dr. Hulda Clark’s Zapper The Zapper works using a similar theory as the Rife Machine; it can kill pathogens throughout the body using resonant frequencies. Dr. Hulda Clark’s website recommends that patients first complete a parasite cleanse before they begin treatment with the Zapper (we offer more complete information on parasite cleanses at this link). Like Rife Therapy and Biomagnetism, Dr. Hulda Clark’s Zapper has been used to treat a wide range of health problems, including (but by no means limited to) cancer, pathogenic infections, lung disease, and more.
Chlorine Dioxide Solution (CDS) / Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS)
Chlorine dioxide solution, otherwise known as CDS, is a Reactive Oxygen Species medicine that can be used to treat and cure a wide range of infectious diseases as well as chronic disorders not caused by infection. CDS can also help chelate heavy metals and other foreign chemicals or compounds from the body. There are testimonials online of people who have successfully cured their sarcoidosis at home using CDS. Since sarcoidosis is likely to be caused either by an infection or by external toxins in most cases, CDS is an important therapy for any patient with sarcoidosis to consider.1ness Chlorine Dioxide Kit - Set Hydrochloric Acid 4% (HCl) : Sodium Solution 28% (4 Oz)
CDS can be administered in a few different ways depending on the needs and individual symptoms of the patient. Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is another therapy that some sarcoidosis patients may wish to include in their protocol, too, since DMSO can heal tissues on its own, but also strengthens CDS and other medicines while helping the CDS medicine gain direct access to cells throughout the body (including in the brain, liver, and gallbladder, all places that most conventional medications can’t reach that easily, if at all). Here are some CDS protocols to consider for the treatment of sarcoidosis:
- Classic Protocol 1000
- Protocol 1000 PLUS
- The Lung Protocol (only for serious cases; read this protocol VERY carefully multiple times and DO NOT make any changes to the instructions)
- Protocol 3000 (especially for skin manifestations of sarcoidosis)
- The Enema Protocol - Supporting Protocol (primarily for detoxification and as a supportive protocol, but may be used if your stomach is too sensitive to oral CDS administration at first)
- The Bath/Footbath Protocol - Supporting Protocol

Bentonite Clay - Detoxifier and Antifungal Treatment
Bentonite clay is a detoxifying agent as well as an antifungal treatment. It can help remove heavy metals and other inorganic toxins from the body in addition to binding with fungi and some other pathogens or decaying organic material to carry it out of the body. This is an important therapy for anyone undergoing detoxification because it can help remove leftover waste from the body quickly and efficiently (in fact, many people experience reduced detox symptoms after taking bentonite clay).Take 1 teaspoon of food-grade bentonite clay twice a day with plain, filtered water. Take it separately from food and supplements (bentonite can bind with “bad” things like pathogens and heavy metals, but it can also bind with “good” things like vitamins, so it’s important to take it separately from anything with nutritional value so that it doesn’t absorb the nutritional substances from the foods/supplements). Drink each dose of clay with at least 8 ounces of water, and be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the rest of the day too to ensure that the bentonite can do its job properly. Keep in mind that if you don’t drink enough water, the clay can be constipating (since it also absorbs water), but that this can usually be remedied by simply drinking more water and rehydrating yourself.
