How to Cure a UTI or Cystitis with DMSO
WARNING: If you are taking a prescription medication, check with your doctor before you use DMSO because it can potentiate the medication in unexpected ways.
Even after years of struggling with cystitis / painful bladder syndrome and a multitude of visits to the doctor's office, I never once had a doctor mention that I could use dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as an at-home, over-the-counter treatment for cystitis even though DMSO is FDA approved as a cystitis treatment. In clinics, doctors will administer DMSO via a catheter and they’ll charge you thousands of dollars to do it, but DMSO is available over-the-counter, it’s affordable and when you drink DMSO in a glass of water, a huge proportion of that DMSO goes directly to the urinary tract to be deposited intact in the bladder. When you drink a glass of water with DMSO mixed into it, about half of the DMSO ends up in the bladder which means that you don’t need for the doctor to administer this medicine via a catheter. In fact, catheters cause urinary tract infections and cystitis so you should generally try to avoid having catheterization done if you suffer from cystitis / painful bladder syndrome or recurrent urinary tract infections.
When you drink water with DMSO, this medicine will not only soothe irritated bladder walls (one of the main functions of DMSO is to cleanse and rejuvenate cells of all different kinds), but it will also help kill pathogens if you do, in fact, have a urinary infection. So you really can't go wrong using DMSO to treat cystitis. DMSO is a natural antibacterial and it is one of few medicines that passes into the urinary tract intact when taken orally.

What is DMSO?
DMSO is a diuretic, so you might notice that when you drink it with water that it causes you to pee more often. Drink 20-50 drops of DMSO in a glass of water if you're suffering from cystitis. It would be okay to take a larger dose if necessary, but start with this amount and see what works for you. DMSO is derived from trees and it's one of the least toxic substances used in medicine. It has the broadest spectrum of medicinal action currently known to man. It's FDA approved and it's widely available for purchase online. This is one of my favorite home medicinals that everyone should have on hand because of its diverse healing action in the body. Many books have been written about this one substance and a whole system of medicine could be based on the use of DMSO so I recommend that people take some time to read about it just so they know the power of what DMSO can do with them beyond just helping them deal with UTIs and cystitis.
Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) happens to be FDA-approved as a treatment for cystitis in pregnant women. And it is an excellent treatment for cystitis. It not only relieves the discomfort of cystitis, but it also has anti-microbial effects in the bladder so it kills pathogens if there are any living in the bladder. DMSO has a toxicity level similar to that of water, so it can be taken in extremely high doses to cure cystitis as long as the patient is not also taking prescription medications that could mix with DMSO. Patients, however, should be aware that DMSO is also drying and therefore it should always be taken with plenty of water.

DMSO has the broadest medicinal action of any pharmaceutical currently on the books. This is a well-hidden fact though and few doctors use it or prescribe it to their patients because it has only been FDA-approved for cystitis. Nonetheless, its low toxicity levels are apparent simply by observing that it is safe for use during pregnancy. Anyone who knows anything about DMSO would note the proximity of the bladder to the uterus in assessing this FDA approval too because DMSO enhances human tissue permeability. What this means is that DMSO would easily pass through the bladder tissues into uterine tissues. Luckily though, DMSO has a detoxifying effect on human cells and it tends to promote healing and the production of healthy human cells. Indeed, some women apply DMSO to their abdomens during pregnancy because DMSO has such a good reputation as a substance that can promote healthy nerve and brain tissue growth.

In patients who have had cystitis for many years, DMSO can be an important tool in healing because it has the ability to soften and release fibrotic tissues that may have built up in or around the bladder to cause cystitis. There are many reasons why a person might develop cystitis and some of these reasons could involve inflammation or the buildup of fibrotic tissues in the bladder. Though most doctors say that there is no way to repair tissue damage caused by a long-standing cystitis infection, DMSO can, in fact, get rid of fibrotic tissues or at least soften them considerably so that they are not problematic anymore. It has been used to treat adhesions caused by surgical scars, for example.DMSO has the ability to heal tissues quickly. Indeed, I have seen severe wounds from construction-related injuries heal within days rather than weeks when DMSO is applied regularly and often to the injured tissues. DMSO as an FDA-Approved Cystitis Treatment
DMSO has the ability to heal tissues quickly. Indeed, I have seen severe wounds from construction-related injuries heal within days rather than weeks when DMSO is applied regularly and often to the injured tissues. This ability to heal wounds quickly happens in part because DMSO can go inside the cell to remove toxins, making the healing process simpler and faster. As mentioned above, in a doctor’s office, DMSO can be administered via a catheter into the bladder to relieve interstitial cystitis. The DMSO is instilled into the bladder and held there for 15-20 minutes. It was the first and only FDA-approved bladder instillation treatment for interstitial cystitis. How it works is not fully understood, but it reduces bladder irritation and pain, relaxes the bladder and pelvic muscles, it relieves bladder pain and increases bladder capacity by breaking down scar tissue and preventing the formation of collagen (a protein that the body uses to create scar tissue). DMSO may be able to heal a bladder with diverticula by releasing fascia that may be strangulating the bladder to produce “pockets” in the bladder wall.
Rimso-50 (the brand name for pharmaceutical DMSO that is administered directly into the bladder) causes the patient to emit a strong garlic smell. In fact, many types of DMSO available for consumer use also can cause the patient to emit a strong garlic-y or oyster-y smell, regardless of the method of administration used (this is due to the high sulfur content in DMSO). But luckily, there are other Low Odor versions of DMSO on the market today that doesn’t cause the odor to be as strong.
Note that if you're taking any other prescription or over-the-counter medications, DMSO CAN INCREASE THE EFFECTS OF THESE MEDICATIONS AS WELL AS HERBS AND ANY OTHER SUBSTANCE INSIDE YOUR BODY. This is because DMSO increases the permeability of cell membranes and can thus carry any and all substances that it interacts with deep into the body, directly into cells. As such, do not take DMSO if you’re currently taking any regular prescription drugs, and don’t take it within close proximity to any other herbs, essential oils, or over-the-counter pharmaceutical medication unless you have some knowledge of how DMSO should be combined with these substances.

How to Use DMSO to Cure Cystitis
DMSO is extremely non-toxic and it can be administered in very large doses. Usually, people with cystitis treat the symptoms as well as the root cause of cystitis by putting 50-100 drops of DMSO in an 8 ounce glass of water. Consider adding a teaspoon of a sea water supplement to the water. Drink the water + DMSO + sea water supplement hourly.

Always use DMSO with clean, filtered water. If you apply it to the skin, rinse the skin first with clean filtered water and skip the soap unless you know your soap is 100% non-toxic and fragrance free. Also, don't put clothes on over an area that's been treated with DMSO for at least 15 minutes to prevent the DMSO from carrying ingredients from the dyes into your body.
To use DMSO to treat cystitis, get a clean glass of water. The water glass should actually be made of GLASS and not plastic (because DMSO can react and combine with certain types of plastic). Always use no-odor or low-odor DMSO or else your breath will smell strongly of rotten oysters. Take 100 drops of DMSO in 8 ounces of water at first until you start to feel relief from your symptoms. Increase the dose if necessary, but be sure to increase the amount of water that you drink along with the DMSO as DMSO is extremely drying.
DMSO is a diuretic, so it will make you have to pee more frequently, but you should notice that the cystitis irritation subsides over time. Because DMSO also can be used to kill infectious organisms, you can use this substance to treat urinary tract infections too. I've used DMSO with MMS to cure everything from cancer to malaria and I've used DMSO by itself and with other substances to cure fungal ear infections and even a severe cat bite.

DMSO can be combined with other medicines to potentiate them, but be careful! Though it may seem smart, if not inspired, to combine DMSO with an antibiotic for UTI in order to strengthen the antibiotic, be sure to do your research before attempting such a thing. How to Combine DMSO with Chlorine Dioxide Solution / Miracle Mineral Solution to Cure UTI and Cystitis
DMSO can be combined with Chlorine Dioxide Solution (CDS) / Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS) to create a powerful antibiotic medication that can be used to treat urinary tract infections when they occur. How to Combine DMSO with Castor Oil and Frankincense Essential Oil to Get Rid of Adhesions and Fibrotic Tissue in the Bladder
Castor Oil and DMSO Combination
Surgery in the pelvic or abdominal region can lead to the development of scar tissues and adhesions that can cause a bladder reservoir or diverticulum, but many patients have used hexane-free, cold pressed, organic castor oil combined with DMSO to both soften and release adhesions and fibrotic tissue. The use of DMSO and castor oil to get rid of bladder diverticula, fibrotic tissues, or adhesions is a process that takes time and dedication, but many patients have successfully used this approach to restore the bladder to a much more normal state of elasticity and form. If you have scar tissues on the outside of your body, especially on your abdomen, back, or pelvis, you’ll want to administer DMSO and castor oil over this area daily. Red Light Therapy Option
Ideally, after you administer the castor oil-DMSO combination or the castor oil-frankincense-DMSO combination, you should aim a red light therapy lamp at your bladder and genital regions. Move the red light every 10-15 minutes to a new location during the treatment.
