Why you need us... (a message from Jennifer)

Lydian and I have extensive, up-to-date knowledge regarding an array of medical models, medicinal agents, and natural treatments, but we also know and understand how to translate what we know into the language of conventional medicine. Many of our clients find us because they’re studying their own or a loved one’s disease and are making an effort to solve a health problem or mental health problem themselves using a treatment method and model of their own design. So our clients tend to be capable people who already sense that they have the ability to solve health problems for themselves even if they don’t have the data or the experience yet.

What sets Lydian and I apart is the fact that we use what we know intuitively to suggest alternative pathways and trajectories of healing to our clients. We’re not just health coaches. We aren’t doctors. We don’t just direct people blindly to do this or do that in terms of their health. In other words, we don’t just suggest treatments for a given health or mental health condition on the basis of knowledge, but rather on the basis of intuition and dialogue with the client. Most clients contact us because they sense intuitively that something about their health situation is going wrong or that they’re off-course with their healing path and they need someone who’ll tune in to their path to help them find their North Star again. Some clients, of course, feel like they’re on the right path, but they need some validation and a sense of empowerment. In any case, we help our clients hear their own voice again, through their bodies and through what their body (or their loved one’s body) is trying to say to them.

In conventional medicine, doctors are taught to view the body as a type of machine that can be steered, manipulated, greased and maintained the way a mechanic might work with a car. But that’s not how Lydian and I work with health and mental health. Though both of us are educated and knowledgeable in conventional medicine, we can move out of this model of "the body as a machine" into other ways of viewing the body based on what you actually need. In our view, the body and the mind are the same thing – the body is the mind. So when clients contact us about a health issue, we allow that client’s body to communicate with us and tell us its story.

Our clients tend to be intelligent people who are already quite knowledgeable about their own health, so while we provide a write-up and links about treatments, medicines, and other healing resources after the call (the write-up is based on notes taken before and during the call), we also talk about whatever seems to be most important during the actual health-coaching meeting. Our job is to open up new avenues toward healing – pathways that the client may not have been able to see or consider for one reason or another. And we listen. We LISTEN. CAREFULLY. Not just to what clients are saying through words, but what their bodies are saying to us, among other things. We get our clients out of the dead-end cul-de-sac of modern conventional medicine and the mechanical view of the body so that they can remember how to heal themselves and see other streets and pathways that could lead them to a happier and healthier existence. This is why you need us. We give you a detailed map and then put you back into the driver’s seat of your own car, so you can heal yourself (or your loved one) with both knowledge and confidence.
