Psychosis and Psychotic Disorders: One of the Little-Known Side Effects of Vaccines

Though rare, there have been reports of psychosis and other psychotic disorders following vaccination with the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as following vaccination with yellow fever, rabies, typhus, and pertussis vaccines. One report of a 31-year-old man who received an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine notes that he developed symptoms of psychosis shortly after receiving the vaccine, and his symptoms worsened significantly following the second dose of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.

For individuals who develop psychosis or psychotic disorders following vaccination, vitamin B3 (niacin) may be the first line of defense/treatment. Dr. Abram Hoffer, an expert in orthomolecular medicine, has successfully treated many people suffering from schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, and other related disorders using high dose niacin therapy. In fact, Dr. Hoffer (and other experts) considers these psychotic disorders to be deficiency diseases, just like scurvy is a deficiency disease caused by too little vitamin C. Thus, people with psychosis may benefit from niacin supplementation as a primary form of therapy (and those who are predisposed to these disorders should consider taking supplemental niacin before receiving any vaccines in order to prevent mental health problems from developing in the first place).

Note that alcohol psychosis is often caused by either a niacin or a thiamine deficiency. A deficiency of either of these vitamins can cause brain inflammation that in turns causes symptoms of psychosis. Click here to read more about alcohol psychosis treatment and prevention using these vitamins.

Vitamin B12 deficiency may also play a role in the development of psychosis and other psychotic disorders, especially in people with a family history of psychotic disorders who are at risk of developing a B12 deficiency.

Treatment with Mucuna pruriens and amino acids may also be beneficial for people with psychotic disorders. As long as the person is not taking antidepressant medications in particular, treatment with 5-HTP and other herbal medicines can prove useful as treatment options. Additionally, be aware of the fact that psychosis often involves trauma as an underlying cause. Trauma can cause strange symptom to emerge seemingly out of nowhere, including symptoms of psychosis. If you suspect that trauma may be an underlying cause driving symptoms of psychosis, click here to read more about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) cures that all target the autonomic nervous system.
