Passionflower / Passiflora incarnata Supplement
Passionflower is an anti-spasm herb that can help relieve anxiety, relax the body, and reduce the symptoms of withdrawal during addiction treatment. It is especially useful for people recovering from addictions to heroin, morphine, alcohol, and tobacco. When taken as a sleep aid in the correct dose, passionflower does not cause morning drowsiness, but it does still promote deep, restful sleep throughout the night. During the day, it can be used in lower dosages to help reduce anxiety and cravings.
Take up to 4 capsules of this supplement at night before sleeping to treat insomnia and improve sleep quality. Take 1-2 capsules during daytime hours for anxiety (start with a lower dose to see how you feel in order to avoid unwanted drowsiness during the day).
Some people may choose to take passionflower in a tincture form.
Passionflower should not be taken by pregnant women (this herb can stimulate the uterus and cause uterine contractions, thus potentially resulting in early labor). Use with caution if you are breastfeeding.
