L-Cysteine Amino Acid Supplement



L-cysteine is an essential amino acid that humans need to consume in their diet (the body does not naturally manufacture L-cysteine on its own). This supplement is a concentrated form of this amino acid.

L-cysteine is related to NAC (N-acetylcysteine), a supplement that can reduce congestion in the sinuses and clear mucus in the lungs. In fact, NAC can even behave similarly to guaifenisin when taken in high enough doses. Both NAC and L-cysteine are converted to glutathione in the body. L-cysteine is somewhat more accessible than NAC which is why we’ve included it here.

Take up to 2000mg of L-cysteine up to 3 times per day to reduce congestion and drainage. This supplement contains 500mg per capsule, so take 4 capsules to meet the 2000mg dosage. We recommend taking L-cysteine in the morning, at noon, and again at night before bedtime.
