D-ribose is a naturally occurring sugar that helps mitochondria in the cells be able to function effectively. Without D-ribose, our mitochondria will not be able to work (meaning that our cells will not be able to produce energy). Supplementing with D-ribose powder like this one can support recovery from chronic fatigue like that associated with Long COVID, and can also help improve memory, reduce soreness in the muscles, diminish pain symptoms, and encourage mental clarity. It is naturally antioxidant, so D-ribose also scavenges free radicals in the body.
For recovery from Long COVID, take 15g of this powder daily for two weeks. After two weeks, back off the dosage to 10g per day. If you experience gastrointestinal upsets when taking D-ribose (some people do because it’s a sugar), take only 5g per day and dissolve it on your tongue when taking it.
This powder contains 5 grams per scoop, so you will need to take a total of 3 scoops of D-ribose powder per day to reach the above dosage. One container will last about 16 days at this dose (you need it for 2 weeks at this dose before backing off to 10 grams per day, at which point the second container you use will last 25 days).
If you have a corn sensitivity, use this product with caution. Many D-ribose products are produced from corn, and we are uncertain whether or not this particular product is corn-free or not.
