How to Cure Diabetes at Home: Quassia amara
Quassia amara is a small evergreen shrub that’s found in the northern areas of South America. Medicinally, all parts of the Quassia amara plant are useful. This plant is also known by the names Bitter-Ash, Bitter-wood, Amargo, and Hombre Grande. It is used as a bitter flavoring agent in food, but it is perhaps best known as a cure for cancer and diabetes.Quassia amara: Herbal Remedy for Diabetes
Quassia amara is used as a cure for diabetes as well as for malaria, smallpox, and several childhood diseases such as measles, so this is an herbal cure for diabetes that might be valuable to keep in the cupboard for occasional use even after you cure diabetes. As an herbal remedy for diabetes, Quassia amara appears to be powerfully anti-pathogenic, antiviral, antiprotozoal and antibacterial, and therefore it may work to relieve diabetes perhaps by treating low-level infection that might be colonizing the liver, the kidneys, or the bone marrow in some patients. For example, type 1 diabetes has been shown to sometimes be caused by an underlying infection with human enterovirus or hepatitis B. Studies have shown that Quassia amara inhibits DPP-IV, an enzyme that breaks down metabolic hormones like GLP-1.
One study in India examined the value of Quassia amara as an herbal remedy for type 2 diabetes in 58 subjects with mild to moderate diabetes. The participants were given 3 capsules filled with the heartwood powder of Quassia amara twice daily before eating. They did this for 60 days along with following a natural diabetes-control diet. Fasting bood sugar levels, postprandial blood sugar levels, BMI, and blood lipid levels were assessed both before and after treatment with Quassia amara. In the study, Quassia amara improved fasting blood sugar levels by an average of 19.33%. Postprandial blood sugar levels improved by an average of 22.05%. Serum cholesterol levels decreased by an average of 9.95%. Serum triglyceride levels were reduced by an average of 13.63%. BMI was reduced by about 1.52% in the participants. As an herb for diabetes, Quassia amara had a significant impact on diabetes type 2 in this study.

Quassia amara has been the subject of a “biospiracy” as the result of a substance that it contains known as Simalikalactone E, which has been shown to have a powerful anticancer and antimalarial effect on the body.
Cancer and diabetes often coexist and they are viewed by some experts as the same disease. Indeed, there is a powerful connection between cancer and diabetes via the pancreas and pancreatic enzymes. While diabetics often suffer from diabetes as a result of liver, gallbladder, or large intestine congestion / toxicity and inflammation in the common bile duct that causes a backup of pancreatic enzymes into the pancreas. A backflow of pancreatic enzymes in the pancreas causes the destruction of pancreatic beta cells which can lead to diabetes when the cells that produce insulin are damaged or destroyed. But a lack of pancreatic enzymes in the digestive system can also lead to cancer because pancreatic enzymes normally circulate through the entire body to digest cancer cells before they can take hold. A pancreatic enzyme deficiency can thus leave the body vulnerable to the development of cancer.
So Quassia amara is an herb for both cancer and diabetes. If you suspect that your body is host to a low-level infection that causes diabetes, consider using Quassia amara as a treatment. And if you’re looking for an herbal cure for cancer and diabetes, Quassia amara would be a good herb to start with.
As an herbal remedy for diabetes, Quassia amara has been compared to metformin in terms of its effects on the body. It increases appetite in diabetics who don’t feel like eating.
