D-Mannose During Pregnancy: Dosing

D-mannose is a type of sugar that has been used safely during pregnancy for cystitis, bladder infections, UTIs, and kidney infections. It works by blocking the interaction between bacterial fimbriae and uterine endothelium to prevent the adhesion of bacteria to the surface of the urinary tract tissues. It prevents recurrent UTIs and can help treat existing UTIs during pregnancy. Taking high doses can cause diarrhea. Be sure to drink plenty of water when administering D-mannose to encourage the urinary tract to flush out infectious pathogens.

Administer 420-3000 mg of D-Mannose per day. Divide the chosen amount into 4 separate doses and administer them throughout the day.
