Doctors will prescribe thyroxin and L-thyroxine to treat benign thyroid nodules or thyroid carcinoma (thyroid cancer) that can be treated and cured using Lugol’s iodine. In prescribing thyroxin and L-thyroxine at an improper dose, bone mineral density is lessened and patients become more susceptible to bone fractures. Patients who are prescribed thyroid medications not only must carry the extra expense of buying these drugs chronically, but they also have no hope of healing the thyroid gland, which is entirely possible using Iodine Therapy and natural nutrient supplements that contribute to normal bone health. Because thyroxin and L-thyroxine do not treat the underlying health condition, as the nutrient iodine can, the thyroid gland continues to malfunction and patients are at an increased risk of developing osteoporosis.
