Important Vitamins for Long COVID Treatment

What is vitamin B15?
Vitamin B15 is a B-complex vitamin found in all plant seeds, including in seeds such as watermelon seeds, pumpkin seeds, apple seeds, grape seeds, and others. It is also sometimes referred to as pangamic acid. This substance was discovered in 1938 by Dr. Ernst Krebs, who also was the first to develop laetrile, a synthetic version of amygdalin (also known as vitamin B17 and commonly used as a cancer cure).
Vitamin B15 is a vital nutrient, just like any other vitamin, and is valuable for the following situations and conditions:
- Endurance during exercise
- Asthma (and other respiratory illnesses)
- Skin conditions (including eczema)
- Lung problems
- Conditions related to the nerves and joints
- Increases oxygen to the heart and brain, as well as to other vital organs
- Detoxifies the body
- Alcoholism/alcohol and drug hangovers
- Fatigue / chronic fatigue syndrome
- Protects the body from urban air pollution
- Strengthens immune system
- Lowers cholesterol in the blood
- Regulates hormones
- Increases cell life and vitality
- Reduces signs of aging
- Liver detoxifier
In the western diet especially, many foods have been genetically engineered to no longer have seeds (and some ever-present edible seeds, like those in apples, are demonized… for example, you can and probably should eat your apple seeds). Thus, most people who eat these foods get very little vitamin B15 in their diets, which can lead to a host of health problems, some of which are obvious while others are more subtle and insidious, such as fatigue. Because it’s so comparatively difficult to get natural sources of vitamin B15 in the diet anymore in countries where foods don’t have seeds often anymore, it’s usually essential to supplement with this vitamin in order to ensure that you’re getting an adequate amount of this nutrient.
Vitamin B15/Pangamic Acid in the Treatment of COVID-19 and Long Haul COVID
According to some studies done on this vitamin, pangamic acid demonstrates an especially high ability to inhibit the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein from being able to enter otherwise healthy host cells. There are some other vitamins and other nutrients that also display this ability, but vitamin B15 was particularly effective for preventing viral replication by inhibiting the entry of the spike protein into cells.
While inhibition of the viral replication may not be able to completely cure an infection in all cases, a nutrient like vitamin B15 can dramatically reduce viral load and help a person recover much more quickly, especially when it is paired with an antiviral agent. This vitamin’s action in the body can also help reduce lung inflammation and the potential for cytokine storm as it helps regulate the immune system and correct imbalances in cytokine production (or lack thereof). Vitamin B15 may also be able to help prevent COVID-19 infection in the first place, and can help reduce the chances of catching a secondary infection post-recovery.
In the treatment of Long Haul COVID, vitamin B15 is an extremely valuable supplement to use for recovery. Not only does it help clear out any remaining viral loads that may be present in the body, but it also helps prevent other infections and can reduce debilitating symptoms like fatigue, nerve and joint pains, and remaining respiratory or lung-related symptoms. Vitamin B15 stimulates cellular respiration, which helps energize cells. This action is absolutely necessary for recovery from any illness, but is particularly valuable in cases where an infection or set of symptoms is persistent, such as with Long COVID. Many people afflicted with Long Haul COVID are “low” on cellular energy and nutrients, so any therapy that can increase cellular energy and/or respiration will be valuable.
Vitamin B15 can also help the body to rebalance and reset after times of extreme stress, whether it be physical, mental, or emotional. It can help the body to reoxygenate and restores blood flow to the brain and heart. It also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects throughout the body, though these effects are particularly noticeable in the liver. Vitamin B15 also helps with detoxification on a cellular level and is also valuable for cellular repair.
Pangamic acid may be taken in a supplement form (such as in a capsule) or it may be obtained from certain dietary sources, such as apricot kernels (which are also high in vitamin B17, another important nutrient), sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, brewer’s yeast, brown rice, and other whole grains. For the treatment of Long Haul COVID, the authors of this book recommend taking a daily vitamin B15 supplement in addition to making a conscious effort to eat foods that are high in vitamin B15 (incorporate a daily snack with your favorite roasted seeds, for example).
Vitamin B15 may also be referred to as pangamic acid, pangamate, or calcium pangamate. Another name for this vitamin includes D-glucono dimethyl aminoacetic acid. Although vitamin B15 is most accessible in capsule/supplement form, it is also possible to find boutique clinics offering injections or IV therapies including this vitamin.
Dosages of this vitamin vary between 50mg to 200mg per day. This vitamin is an antioxidant, so it’s important that you don’t take it at the same time as other oxidant medicines like MMS/CDS.
Vitamin B15 is considered illegal in certain countries, so depending on where you’re located it may or may not be legal to obtain. If you are located in one of these countries, get a bag of raw, bitter organic apricot kernels and aim to eat at least 20 per day. Consume them in sets of 5, spaced out throughout the day and do not eat them with ANY other foods or supplements. You must eat them on their own. Some countries where vitamin B15 is not approved/illegal include the United States and Canada.
People who are currently taking Digoxin (Lanoxin) should be aware that taking vitamin B15 supplements (particularly in higher doses) may increase the effects and side effects of this medication.
