Methylene Blue: Diseases It Can Cure, Dosing, and How to Use It

Please be sure to read this entire document about how to use Methylene Blue safely. Methylene is most powerful when it is given at lower doses. At higher doses, its physiological effects on the body are the opposite of what it does when given at high doses.

Body Weight: 55 kg/121 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 55 mg/day or 110 drops/day
Body Weight: 60 kg/132 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 60 mg/day or 120 drops/day
Body Weight: 65 kg/143 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 65 mg/day or 130 drops/day
Body Weight: 70 kg/154 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 70 mg/day or 140 drops/day
Body Weight: 75 kg/165 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 75 mg/day or 150 drops/day
Body Weight: 80 kg/176 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 80 mg/day or 160 drops
Body Weight: 85 kg/187 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 85 mg/day or 170 drops/day
Body Weight: 90 kg/198 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 90 mg/day or 180 drops/day
Body Weight: 95 kg/209 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 95 mg/day or 190 drops
Body Weight: 100 kg/220 lbs: 1 mg/kg dose = 100 mg/day or 200 drops/day
NOTE: The maximum safe dose of Methylene Blue per day is up to 30 mg/kg per day according to the patient’s weight.
The Role of Methylene Blue in Controlling Nitric Oxide
Nitric Oxide is a toxic molecule in the human body. It is a free radical that exists as a byproduct of environmental pollution as well as a byproduct of human metabolism. Unfortunately, Nitric Oxide causes certain short-term desirable effects such as dilating blood vessels and as such, it has gotten a positive reputation in modern medicine as a beneficial substance. Because conventional treatments for disease tend to focus on band-aid effects and short-term results, Nitric Oxide is currently being used as a medicine rather than being accurately labeled as a toxic substance.
Though Nitric Oxide is able to dilate blood vessels in the body, it does NOT enhance oxygenation of cells. On the contrary, Nitric Oxide blocks the body’s ability to use oxygen, so high levels of Nitric Oxide causes blood vessel dilation that imitates shock. Nitric Oxide functions in the body in a manner similar to cyanide or carbon monoxide. So when people take medicines that enhance Nitric Oxide, such as Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, Arginine and L-Arginine supplements (amino acids that increase Nitric Oxide levels in the body), superbeet supplements (beets contain high levels of Nitric Oxide) and more, they are actually reducing their overall cellular energy production.
Nitric Oxide is perhaps most famous as a molecule that treats Erectile Dysfunction. Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra all work by elevating levels of Nitric Oxide in the body during stress. When the body is not under stress, Carbon Dioxide, a natural byproduct of breathing, is the best blood vessel relaxant and general health enhancer that exists. But when the body is stressed either by emotional or physical assaults (such as by a disease or an infection), Nitric Oxide is released to keep the blood flowing.

The short-term effects of Nitric Oxide, after all, causes blood vessel dilation which helps men achieve erections more easily in the short-term. But in the long-term, Nitric Oxide decreases testosterone and fertility levels. Few men realize that Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis are causing their testosterone levels to drop precipitously as a result of the increase in Nitric Oxide content. Low testosterone levels, in fact, are a major contributor to the problem of Erectile Dysfunction.
As with many pharmaceuticals on the market today, the goal is not to cure disease, but rather to keep customers returning again and again to doctor’s offices as their health spirals ever downward.

When to Use Methylene Blue as a Nitric Oxide Inhibitor:
In small amounts, Nitric Oxide works to increase blood flow in the body to provide oxygen to areas that are really in need. In large amounts or over the long-term, however, Nitric Oxide has the opposite effect on the body. It causes cells to stop being able to use oxygen properly and it therefore contributes to health decline.
NOTE: Nitric Oxide is part of the body’s immune system. It is produced as a free radical or rather, a Reactive Nitrogen Species to kill bacteria and other pathogens. Through its ability to control a cytokine storm, it can also control cellular proliferation, the differentiation of cells, and the regulation of angiogenesis as well as immune and inflammatory responses. Thus, as an alternative treatment for cancer, Methylene Blue can be used to restore normal cellular behavior and respiration.
- Skin Cancer / Melanoma – individuals with chronically high levels of Nitric Oxide are at an 84% higher risk of developing melanoma.
Methylene Blue has other medicinal actions in the body besides just working as a Nitric Oxide inhibitor. But Nitric Oxide is a big problem in the body. This molecule acts as a signal for a number of disease states, so it plays a role in a number of different diseases including the following:
- Ebola infection – Patients with high Nitric Oxide levels are more likely to die because the Nitric Oxide causes the blood vessels to leak. Methylene Blue does have anti-viral capabilities, but it’s main function in a disease like Ebola is to quell the cytokine storm. The cytokine storm is ultimately what kills patients and what causes hemorrhaging of the skin, organs, and eyes.
- Malaria – It was used during World War II and remains, to this day, one of the most effective anti-malarials on the market.
- Urinary Tract Infection – Though Methylene Blue turns the urine blue and it can cause bladder irritation, it can be used to cure Urinary Infections at home. It is often used with Cystex
- Depression – Methylene Blue quickly makes its way to the brain where it scavenges for pro-inflammatory Nitric Oxide to relieve depression.
When to Use Methylene Blue to Treat Cytokine Storm Symptoms
Methylene Blue has the ability to treat a cytokine storm and this is no small thing in terms of improving both general health as well as treating major diseases and infections. A cytokine storm happens when the body throws everything it has in its immune arsenal at an infection or stressor. Cytokine storms are often the most deadly aspect of diseases like Ebola or COVID. In depression, for example, Methylene Blue works to reduce the number of pro-inflammatory cytokines that may be causing brain inflammation (and depression). Methylene Blue also increases anti-inflammatory cytokines to further that process of reducing inflammation quickly. Cytokines play a role in a number of devastating diseases and Methylene Blue gives us the ability to modulate their activities in the body to some extent.
How to Use:
Buy only pharmaceutical grade Methylene Blue to use as medication. Other Methylene Blue products contain a high proportion of contaminants.
By Mouth: Add Methylene Blue to water and follow the dosing guidelines above. Take it 2 to 4 divided doses times per day to avoid an upset stomach which can happen if you take a high dose of Methylene Blue all at once.
Via a Nebulizer: Add a drop of Methylene Blue to the filtered water in the nebulizer cup to enhance lung health.
As Photodynamic Therapy with Red Light or Infrared Light: After ingesting Methylene Blue by mouth, shine an infrared or red light (of around 640 nm) at areas of the body that have pain or infection.
NOTE: Doctors can also prescribed an FDA approved footbath that uses an electric current to administer a Methylene Blue “electrolyte” treatment topically. Typically this device is prescribed for diabetic neuropathy.
